Three Film and Video Production students receive awards in this year’s Mosaic Film Experience

David Astudillo, Matthew Anderson, and Kendra Endline received awards in the 2018 Mosaic Mobile Contest, sponsored by the Mosaic Film Experience (MFE). This is a competition for West Michigan high school and college students that requires that films are shot, edited and entered on a mobile device. Congratulations to David, Matthew, and Kendra! Here are their films:

1st place – The Waves, by David Astudillo

The waves presents 13-year-old Jeremy and his mother go through a difficult emotional process involving Jeremy’s best friend.

2nd place – Trapped in Headspace, by Matthew Anderson

Trapped in Headspace presents an artist struggling to create seeks refuge somewhere separate from space and time, pondering his purpose.  He is then confronted by the best and worst within him and has to choose the direction he will take afterward.

3rd place – The Art of Dance, by Kendra Endline

About the Mosaic Film Experience

Founded in 2011, The Mosaic Film Experience (MFE) is a 501(c)(3) organization that uses the platform of digital media to provide students with an opportunity to tell their unique stories and equip them with the critical thinking, collaborative and creative skills necessary for career preparedness. There are three aspects to The Mosaic Film Experience: The Mosaic Event: An annual interactive experience that provides students access to industry professionals through creative, career-inspiring workshops.  Mosaic Mobile: An annual mobile film competition where films are shot, edited, and entered on mobile devices.  Mosaic Community: Events ranging from afterschool curriculum to industry guest speakers and film screenings. For more information about MFE, visit
