Student Riley Huggins receives scholarship for essay on female empowerment

Studio Art Student Riley Huggins received a $1,000 scholarship from the BASF Wyandotte and Livonia chapters of the Women in Business employee resource group. Huggins was one of the two winners, joining Wayne State student Amanda LeBeau.

BASF’s WIB is an employee group that assists the company in attracting, developing, promoting and retaining women in support of BASF’s core business values and changing social environments.

The scholarship sponsors asked children to BASF Wyandotte employees to to submit an essay about an example of female empowerment and how it inspired them to take action.

Riley is attending GVSU as an art major, with an emphasis on Graphic Design and Digital Photography. Congratulations to the winners!
